Joowon is a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University. His research focuses on the development of electrokinetic sensors for high-precision, real-time analysis.

He has published three peer-reviewed papers in internationally recognized SCI journals:

As a Senior Researcher at ProvaLabs, Joowon is currently leading sensor development efforts aimed at quantitatively evaluating the physiological functionality of organoids and microphysiological systems. He focuses on designing integrated sensing platforms capable of monitoring. His work plays a key role in enabling reliable, real-time assessment of complex in vitro models used in drug development and disease modeling. Outside of research, he enjoys long-distance running, where he pushes himself to test his limits and build mental and physical endurance.
